Dr. Kecia Ray
Dr. Kecia Ray is the Chair of the ISTE Board of Directors and served as president of the Special Interest Group for Online Learning (SIGOL). She began her career as a middle school science teacher in DeKalb County, Georgia in 1988. She taught in one of the first 21st century classrooms in the state of Tennessee. Dr. Ray is on the graduate faculty of the College of Teaching and Learning at University of Maryland University College and Bethel University and serves Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools as the executive director of learning technologies. She oversees planning and administration of the district's virtual school, blending learning, online professional development and instructional technology integration. She participated in the development of national standards for engineering and technology as well as two national education technology plans. She is also the author of three books and several papers focused on designing instruction with technology, and she presents her work both nationally and internationally.
